Using Trauma Sensitive Yoga to help Survivors of Trauma

"When your are in a state of terror, you feel it in your body" reports trauma specialist and psychiatrist Dr Bessel Van Der Kolk. Bessel and his team at the Trauma Centre in Massachusetts have conducted extensive research revealing the benefits Trauma Sensitive Yoga for survivors of complex trauma. Complex trauma (a.k.a. chronic PTSD) occurs when a person experiences repetitive, prolonged and invasive trauma involving interpersonal relationships.

The goal of Trauma Sensitive yoga is for people to feel present, connected to, and in control of their bodies again.

Michelle is completing her certification in Trauma Sensitive Yoga with the Trauma Centre and is supporting people to heal through 1:1 and group sessions. For more information about this approach, have a look here https://www.anchortherapy.ie/traumasensitiveyoga.
