About Occupational Therapy

Mental Health Occupational Therapists (OT's) can help you if your mental health interferes with your ability to do the activities (occupations) necessary for living your life. For example:

1. Self-care

OT's can help you to improve how you take care of your physical and mental health.

2. Productivity

Provide help for you to manage work, school and college stress more effectively. Or alternatively help you to link in with work/ vocational courses if you're trying to develop a more productive routine.

3. Leisure activities

Assist you to participate in enjoyable activities with or without others. This can be achieved through meaningful goal setting and practice going out into the community and attending to leisure pursuits.

OT's will address each of these areas to ensure that all of the barriers preventing you from living your most meaningful life are being worked on.
