Mindfulness and Being Present

The focus of mindfulness is turning our attention to the present moment. A regular practice of mindfulness can help us to slow down our racing thoughts which supports us to manage anxiety and stress more effectively.

Have a think about how you can cultivate mindfulness in your life...start by making small changes and see how you go.

You could try:

  • Taking a few slow, deep breaths before you get out of bed in the morning.

  • Spending a moment to look out your window at work or at home and simply notice what's there.

  • Take a moment to focus on your senses: What colours can your see? how many shades of white are there? What can you hear? Can you smell anything? What do you feel?

Anchor Therapy helps people to develop meaningful mindfulness practices to reduce symptoms of stress, worry and anxiety.
